Craniosacral Therapy

What is Craniosacral Therapy (CST)?

CST is a light-touch, whole-body treatment technique developed by John E. Upledger, DO, OMM; works with the body’s craniosacral system to support and nourish the central nervous system —improving overall health and well-being. CST can assist the body in releasing those tension patterns and allow space for the body to self correct. Using a gentle touch, about the weight of a nickel, I will evaluate for strain patterns in the body and use distinctive light-touch techniques to release any restrictions found in the body.

Why is CST important?

Throughout daily life the body endures stresses and strains which an add tension to our tissue. At first this doesn’t cause much of an issue however overtime the body can only handle so much and our tissues begin to tighten as a result to protect the physical body. This can lead to a compromised function of the central nervous system and nearly every other system in your body.

What conditions can be addressed using CranioSacral Therapy?

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

Migraine Headaches

Chronic Neck and Back Pain

Central Nervous System Disorders

Orthopedic Problems

Post-Surgical Dysfunction

Concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries

Scoliosis

Chronic Fatigue

Emotional Difficulties

Stress and Tension-Related Problems

Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders

Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)

Neurovascular or Immune Disorders

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Jesse is incredibly kind and caring for everyone she works with. The session allowed me to feel like I was floating on a cloud and my thoughts were not buzzing with activity as they normally do. 10/10 would recommend scheduling a cranial session if you’re interested in finding relaxation too.
